Tribute To A Teacher
#thankyouteacher
If I held up moments to the light
Squint my eyes and
study them like diamonds sparkling bright
Sharp enough to cut glass in a swift and sublime swipe
I would see the depths of distant worlds
Through your guiding mystic eyes.
The brightness that glows in the darkest hours
Moonless nights of excess reality that
Refuse to reflect on the mirrors
held up by the ravenous world,
Your guiding trail flashes through hell
The moments turn to diamonds bright.
Glinting diamond cuts the glass panes
in a majestic touch-
Shards then capture different shades of
Life and journeys novel, alien.
Moments I scan and turn them with such care
Every speck of hopes and primal fear
Diamonds that ought to shine but
darkens like the death
Sparkling darkness invades, questions
Tries the pluvial faith.
Teacher, you show the radiance new
Of dark and intense
Frozen dew
The rise of the demolished phoenix
In darkest hours
Of death, defeats, and loss and pain.
