Journey In A Book

A whiff she takes as she savored its scent,

A gentle skim, as the longing memory she felt,

The coarse dusty pages lay beneath her hand,

As her foggy glasses slowly read,

It transposed her to a place unknown,

A place where her fantasy came to life,

Filled it with dragons, warriors, giants, and beasts,

A magic potion and the magical bean,

Immersed in the pages she ran,

To win the battle, and the treasure from the mysterious land,

Deaf to the world, she tirelessly swam,

To fight the monster in the Loch ness sea.

 

Glued to the pages, she is now lost,

In this new life and a new identity,

She grips the pages and her heartbeat is fast,

Her breath gasps and her eyes remain astound,

The words flow,

The climax unfolds,

To make the final choice,

The decision she always feared,

The mystery to the case,

The sacrifice the lovers take,

The last fifty pages will decide this fate.

 

She laughed, she cried,

She made friends, she broke ties,

And soon the time arrived,

She reached the end,

And said her unwilling goodbye.
