My Friend, The Darkness

Innocent actions with devious roles

Mercilessly preying on oppressed souls

Betraying trust is the new trend

true that darkness is my friend

What I know, seems unknown

The anxieties have overgrown

The nearest have pushed me too far

Deception has left a permanent scar

Beauty in the disguise of their pride

Busy lives; none by my side

Greed leaves no place for the kind

Ego has made emotions blind

In an attempt to gauge adversaries more,

I’ve seen allies walk out of my door

Relationships have come to an end

And darkness remains my only friend
