Life - Worthless or Worthwhile
Life - Worthless or Worthwhile
Alone, all alone,
He left his home,
Tired of life, without any hope
His future leaves him no scope
His need for money badly
Caused him to indefinitely borrow
But when help finally ran out sadly,
He wished to rid his life of sorrow
He had no ambition in life,
He neither had children nor a wife.
He had nothing which he could sell,
No story of his own which he could tell
He walked aimlessly till he reached
the place,
Where were buried the dead
He looked at the mourning faces
And their looks had it all said.
He saw their hands raise
With teary eyes, to the sky in grace
They were mothers who longed for their dead sons
And the others who missed their dear ones.
He finally understood the meaning of life,
Which shouldn’t be destroyed by disgust or ire,
It was gifted to us from the Lord
And it shall be taken away at his desire.
