I stare at it, eye to eye,
Glaring at what the world would see,
When they see me,
My short brown hair,
My slender body type,
My vivid green eyes
With a faint smile,
This is what the world would see,
If they saw the mirror me,
This is the superficial sight they would see,
If they saw the mirror me.
The words I talk,
The books I read,
The emotions I hide,
The logical and creative mind beneath,
The respect I give,
The selflessness I show,
The strength with which I endure
The troubles knocking on my door,
Will all be hidden,
If they saw the mirror me.
They would see the wrinkles,
Without asking the stress I have been through,
They would see the sadness in my eyes,
Without giving me a reason to be cheerful,
They would question my make-up,
Without knowing the scars I hide,
As this will all be hidden,
If they saw the mirror me.
