On Innocence Loss
On Innocence Loss
Poem on loss of Innocence in pandemic
To my door came one day
A long cloaked singing man.
And sing he did as my ears lay
A song so bitter yet enthralling sweet
It led my out of my cave
I stepped out, but I heard a voice say
"Please stop, or we shall never meet."
"In your heart I am a stream,
With me, you see the stars and moon
And with me the sky of many colors
And the hopes and a rainbow dream.
Take me along, or this shall end soon."
Few steps ahead I saw the door
The door to my heart close forever
Shutting the paradise, I was to visit never.
Now at last I see the darkness in light
The darkness 'she' had kept in dark.
I see the fog drift apart..apart
To give way to bitter truths and broken tears
And of cruel smiles and terrified fears.
She is almost gone, I hear her crack
I feel my chest tear apart
I look around to see the world
This world, far from the one I knew
No! I scream, tis isn't the world where I grew.
I look around to see her gone
As things begin to make more sense
Yet I feel the hollow entrapping pain
And those forced smiles and lied truths hence
Now grieve the loss of her- Innocence!
And at last I look above with hope,
But the stars from the window that shone,
Now hide behind the clouds of gloom.
And so has gone the Moon
Perhaps in the sea, to hide her tears alone.
Nothing left, I follow the melody strange,
The steps ahead for all my coming years
A step ahead, and then in dark valley
In the valley of broken dreams and tears
A song on the wind that swept light
My heart may faint within the night
Yet I follow, and follow in search of bright.
