Frozen
Frozen
A faint dim spark I saw in your eyes -
the sign of a soul willing to shine...
An eerie surrounded the spark like ice,
as your feeble gaze tried to lock with mine.
I gathered my hope and love, all I could show,
to melt the ice around your soul.
The warmth of my soul was gentle and slow -
I had to be careful to keep you whole.
It kept lingering, trying to tune into you -
my mellow gaze, starting to melt the gloom...
It melted away - but was it sweat or dew?
Have I broken your ice, but brought about doom?
The doubt in me, made my soul freeze within..
What have I done to you and me?
Was this our fate? An accident or a sin?
Was this how it was always meant to be?
Now, two frozen souls in the ice of time
Gaze at each other, but it is not so warm...
The ice surrounds, and it's murky with grime...
How have I caused us both so much harm?
We're frozen, not dead, our hope is just hidden...
We've lost our map, but not without a path...
The path is scary - dark, but not forbidden...
Until we find ourselves, will you spare me from your wrath?
