Moving On

She saw that time had her old wounds healed -

Was it new skin or just her new self revealed?

But an invisible scar still remained -

A constant ache where it pierced and pained.

There was a choice she had to make -

To move on and grow bigger than this ache.

She knew it was time to look ahead

with a hope for life, moving past the dead.

She propelled herself to move forward,

Or, was it just her past moving backwards?

She looked for where she could move with ease -

Away from the painful past, into peace.

She didn't move countries to avoid life so drear -

She only moved into the now and here.
