Play Along

It was precious, her first dream - a dream so old -

She'd preserved it well, untouched, and untold.

Talking about it demanded her to be bold,

and she wasn't sure how it would unfold.

She visited it with fondness every single night,

Take care not to expose it out to light.

Some day she would live it when the time was right -

Until then she just had to hold on tight.

She wanted to grow wings before she could fly,

If the dream died prematurely, she was afraid she would cry,

But her dream was so strong it would not die,

It knew it would only grow stronger if she gave it a try.

The dream grew bigger and occupied all her heart,

Now no one could tell her and her dream apart,

Now the dream was her whole and not just a part -

She couldn't not live it - all she had to do was a start.

She still was unsure if the time was right or wrong,

No wings had grown, yet, she couldn't prolong,

The dream had taken charge, now, it was so strong -

The dream drove itself, she just had to play along...
