Pearls Of Sea

Pearls Of Sea

What if the sea decides to count,

How many waves crash on its shore?

Or, how many stars gleaming on a moonless night?

Does the wind’s velocity puzzle or petrify it?

Throughout the day does it calculate the intensity,

Of the changing pace of the light of the sun?

Does it note the shipwrecks or people enjoying?

No, I don’t, says the sea,

For I am too engrossed in my duties,

Underneath the foamy waters,

Live aquatic species varied,

Some hidden treasures I carefully guard,

Besides, my playmates don’t allow me,

To be morose or be obsessed with something,

O, look how the sea boasts!

But, indeed I am upset,

You want to know why,

Because of you, yes, the humans,

Endlessly polluting and damaging me,

With their intellectual residue,

And, thereby, disturbing Nature’s cycle,

And, I warn you, again and again,

To rectify their faults promptly,

But, sadly, they won’t listen.

In the mighty and vast universe,

Like I don’t remember teeny details,

You, too, are insignificant,

But, yes good deeds are satisfying,

They are rewarding like the pearls,

But, when, will these human beings,

Open their consciousness,

And become responsible for the planet,

They are inhabiting?
