Love Song
Love Song
Valentine’s Day approaching, my heart skips a beat,
Fetish for soulful love, I indulge in daydreaming,
What if he surprises me with a gift of love?
I’ll then sing the sweetest melody on the earth.
A tune I’ve picked and started rehearsing,
Humming all day, lest I forget the lyrics,
An eerie delight clutches my heart,
As I perceive silver lining o’er the stygian clouds.
He will make me feel special,
He will patch up, and we will reunite,
For love is ever fresh and blooming,
And, letting go, merely enhances its
sheen.
Am I unworthy of Cupid’s arrow?
Then, why does he flee and avoid me?
What has befallen us, I can’t surmise,
To build walls of misgivings in-between?
Lovelorn, I leave the song unattended,
There’s no rhythm left, within and around,
I would have preferred to be stabbed directly,
Rather than losing the gleeful music of my heart.
Life’s turn of events, puzzle me a lot,
Gradually waning hope and earnest desire,
Leaves me irate, morose and lifeless,
Yet, why I, then, count the days remaining?
