Dark But True
Dark But True
When you hold the torch to maneuver my sight,
When you make me follow where you shine the spotlight
When you make me focus on what you think is right
What is it that you're hiding on the other side of the light?
Truth cannot be shown in parts, as much as you try
If it's not whole, don't call it half-truth - it is but a lie
Truth doesn't depend on what you defend or deny
In light, it is seen; yet, in darkness, it doesn't die...
Day is what you call it, but somewhere it is still night
As it dawns on you, you can only see it in hindsight
Seeing the truth is not making your torch more bright
What you need is to see from an angle that gives more insight
If you don't see the truth it doesn't become a lie
If you don't see the truth it's not because it's shy
If you don't see the truth it's because you didn't try
If you don't see the truth it's a problem with your eye
