In the village of Pakodi Nagar, there was a river called Jumpy Jamuna. It was famous for one thing: every log thrown into it would float. Always. No exceptions.

Until one day, a log didn’t.

Ramu the woodcutter had chopped a perfectly normal log and tossed it into the river. It sank like a sleepy potato. The villagers gasped. The cows mooed in disbelief. Even the ducks paused mid-quack.

Ramu scratched his head. “Maybe it’s shy,” he said.

So he tried again. He whispered to the log, gave it a pep talk, even tied a balloon to it. Nothing. The log just sank, glub-glub, like it had a secret.

Then came Granny Jaya, who didn’t believe in nonsense. She marched to the river, poked the log with her walking stick, and shouted, “Float, you stubborn stick!”

The log popped up, spun twice, and floated like a champion.

Everyone cheered. Ramu cried. The ducks resumed quacking.

From that day on, the villagers believed that some logs just need a little motivation. And Granny Jaya became the official River Encourager.
