The Pizza Prank Mystery
The Pizza Prank Mystery
Leo and Maya stood in the school parking lot, staring at the roof. The Principal’s statue was up there, wearing a pink frilly skirt and holding a pizza. It made no sense. The statue was heavy, and the roof was high.
"Check this out," Maya said, pointing at the ground. There were messy, yellow footprints leading away from the gym wall. They smelled like... mustard?
They followed the yellow footprints all the way to the school kitchen. Inside, they found the Janitor, Mr. Henderson, scrubbing the floor. He looked very tired.
"Mr. Henderson," Leo said, trying to look like a tough detective. "Did you put the statue on the roof?"
"I can barely lift a mop, kid," the Janitor sighed. "But I did see the Cooking Club President, Sam, sneaking around here late last night. He said he was 'practicing' his secret sauce."
Leo and Maya ran to the home economics room. They found Sam hiding under a table, covered in flour.
"Okay, I did it!" Sam shouted before they even said anything. "But I didn't do it alone! I wanted to show everyone my new pizza recipe, but I'm too short to reach the roof. I used the school's old delivery drone to fly the pizza up there."
"But what about the statue and the tutu?" Maya asked.
Sam pointed to the corner. The school mascot—a guy in a giant Bulldog suit—was sitting there holding a tutu. He took off the mask. It was the Principal’s own son, Toby.
"My dad is too grumpy," Toby laughed. "I helped Sam use the gym’s heavy-duty lifting crane to move the statue as a joke. I thought the tutu was a nice touch."
Just then, Principal Grumble walked in. He looked at Sam, then at his son, and then at the pizza on the roof. He didn't look angry. He actually looked hungry.
"Is that pepperoni?" the Principal asked.
He made the boys climb up and get the pizza down. He didn't even give them detention—he just made them share the pizza with the whole school. The mystery was solved, the statue was back on the ground, and Leo finally finished his ham sandwich.
