The UFO

It was a humid Friday afternoon. Lynette was making her way out of the school grounds when the birds of the air dashed by. All in excitement to reach someplace in time for something big. That of course was what she thought. Then out of the blue, a shining object appeared its body was an oval shape more like a spider in the air. It landed as fast as it appeared on the school's oval. In no time the door flew open and robot-like figures marched out with funny-looking guns.

The students nearby watched in silence. Others ran for their lives. These robot-like figures had necks that could rotate and their eyes popped out of their eye socket. They were ugly and fierce-looking robots. They suddenly opened fire that sent Lynette diving for the flower bed nearby. She could no longer see what was happening. Just as she was out to lift her head to see what was going on the siren went off. She had no time to think but run with the group of students out of the school grounds.

The shots were continuously fired which Lynette found so loud that she had to put her palms across her ears as she continued running.

The police cars and vans including the fire truck and ambulance flew passed with their sirens on. To my amazement, I saw another spider-like craft heading straight at us on the road. Lynette turned and headed for the door of a house she saw left open. Slamming shut the door behind her she dived under the coffee table which was big enough for her slender body to hide under. She could hear voices screaming for help outside. It was the students and probably bystanders.

When the noise outside died down she crawled from under the coffee table only to find two ugly-looking eyes glaring at her. She froze with fright and fell to the floor soaked with sweat. The robot stepped closer and reached out to her.

Lynette closed her eyes only to be gently touched by her mother saying to her here is your reading book titled 'The day the UFO landed at my school". Mrs. Lancaster would like you to read the book and do a book review. She also gave a card to you.. "You need to take a shower since you're sweating all over", she said and walked out of her room.

What a dream! She smiled to herself and got out of bed to take that shower. She headed straight for the window and looked out to the last rays of the sun like in a rush to hide behind the mountains.
