My Parents Aren't A Burden

Today, Neeta was very upset. She used to get very tired after doing household work, her job, and taking care of her elderly parents.

"You should get married now, Neeta! How long will you continue doing all the work alone?"

When Neeta came to the office, her colleague Seema said, "Seema, you know, there is no one to take care of my old parents. Both my brothers never even come to look back. Both are living happily with their families. So, now I have to see my parents. What will happen to my parents if I get married?"

Seema became silent after hearing Neeta's painful words.

Actually, Neeta's three brothers settled in their respective places after marriage and, one by one left the house. Neeta's old parents and Neeta remained in the house. Mother kept crying the whole day, remembering her brothers, and the father kept cursing the brothers, saying, "It would have been better for these worthless people not to have been born at all. At least at this old age, I don't have to do so much work. And one does not have to listen to the taunts of the people that there must be some flaw in the old man that his three sons and daughter-in-law left him!"

Neeta kept listening to everything and kept doing her work silently. She had made serving her parents the goal of her life because she knew that if she got married and left home, there would be no one to take care of her parents. And both of them are unable to survive any longer. So, she decided to live like this.

No matter how much mother insists, "Daughter! You should get married!" and father also says, Neeta Sarg used to say on the surface that she did not feel like getting married. Whereas she also wanted to settle down. She also wanted to have a husband, and children, and live a happy married life, but Neeta had to sacrifice herself for the selfishness of the three brothers.

There are many such daughters who, because of the neglect of their brothers, become the support of their parents in their old age and sacrifice the happiness of their life, as exemplified by Neeta.

Parents should make their sons responsible along with their daughters while raising their children so that when they grow up, they do not turn away from their responsibilities and become selfish.
