MISSING CAFETERIA

Now is a lockdown, it's mandatory to stay home for safety. I took my coffee mug and took a deep sip, the taste of the coffee reminded me of our cafeteria, in college. I really miss it. It’s not a place for having coffee, but the place where I and my friends had great fun. It’s the place of our friendship, where I and my friends, Becca, Emily, Katrina, Helen, Sofy, and Dhanu celebrated our friendship.

I remember that special day, it was Becca’s birthday. We decided to plan a surprise party for her. I and my friends bought the arrangements and we booked the cafeteria for the party. We bought her favorite three-tier truffle chocolate cake. We didn’t even utter a word to her about it.

On her birthday, she came to college with a delighted face. We pretended that we didn’t know about it,

“Guys, do you what day is today?”

“Uhh... No, I have no idea” Helen said

“Did any movie released today?” Katrina said

“Today we have practical sessions,” Emily said

“Guys... Today is a special day”

“What special day, Becca, I have no idea,” I said

“Yeah me too,” Dhanu said

“What is it, Becca?’ Sofy asked her

“I thought you guys know it, it’s my birthday” Becca’s face dulled,

“Oh! Your birthday” we chorused.

“You’re not my friends, how could you forget it?”

“Sorry Becca” we apologized to her

“No, I won’t forgive you guys”

“Come on Becca. Let’s have a coffee” I called her

“No, I don’t need it”

“Come on, lighten your mood”

 we took her to the cafeteria, she didn’t know about the surprise, when Emily opened the door, Becca was surprised to see the decorations and the arrangements and the banner,

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BECCA”

“WOW!” Becca amazed,

“Aww, you guys planned a surprise birthday party,” she said with glee,

“Yesss” we all group hugged her, then we celebrated her birthday,

“You guys bought my favorite cake” Becca jumped in delight, we rubbed cake over her face, pop the balloons, sprayed the foam, and had great fun.

Also, whenever we get bored, all of us used to go to the cafeteria and enjoy a hot Cappuccino, the barista used to make good latte art, we loved it. He used to make heart-shaped latte art for me, I miss it.

The pasta in that cafeteria is so special, it’s delicious and finger-licking, I miss the cafeteria and my friends, when will this situation change? I miss the cafeteria so much.
