Dusk was descending in the Garden. The tube light’s brightness was spreading. The children were going home with their parents—hopping-giggling. Two collegians reached at their appointed time and place. They smiled at each other and hugged. Both sat down on the bench.
Kiran looked at her best friend Foram’s eye, and said, "Why do you look sad today? What is it?”
“No. there is nothing...” She smiled fake.
“Then why do I feel your gorgeous bright eyes have touched by sadness?” She said caressing her hand.
Foram smiled mildly, and said, “I don’t feel good that you are going USA. I already am missing you! What will I do here without you? My heart feels so much love, Kiran."
“If you love me so much, then come USA for study further,” Kiran said.
“I wish I could, but mom-dad refuses to go out of Gujarat. They are just after me to get married. And now I cannot even tell them that I am not interested in any handsome boys—but I am in love with my best friend.” Tears brimmed in her eyes.
“I understand your situation Foram. We will stay connected on FaceTime. Before leaving, I want you to have something special," Kiran opened a velvet red box and placed it in front of her.
As she saw the proposal ring shining in the box, a pearl of tear dropped on her cheek. Her heart filled with love.
Kiran took her hand between both the palms and confessed her feelings too. And then both hogged each other with immense love. They couldn’t suppress their impulse of expressing love. Both lips met passionately and hugged each other as they will never leave.
