Rachel Pitt is a splendid fishmonger from quiet Ohio. She leads a simple life. However, all that changes when Rachel books a summer holiday to snooty Truro.

At first, Rachel finds Truro very deprived. Then there's the mysterious, grateful shopkeeper, Rhiannon Gloop, who makes her feel scared.

When Rhiannon invites her on a rampaging expedition, Rachel begins to realize that Rhiannon is a deeply stable and bold woman.

Rachel knows in her heart that Rhiannon is the woman for her. However, to secure her happiness, Rachel must fend off the spiteful navigator, May Kowalski, who wants to get her claws into Rhiannon.

Using her ill-meaning aardvarks and a mutual love of dancing, Rachel sets out to snare Rhiannon once and for all. But will the grateful fishmonger return her affections?
