FIRST TRAVEL WITHOUT PARENTS

FIRST TRAVEL WITHOUT PARENTS

My first travel without parents was in 2017 when I was in grade 3. It was a one-day picnic organized by our school. The destination was a beautiful resort- VANANCHAL RESORT. It was a chilly morning of January. I woke up with lots of excitement. I got ready in a short time and packed my bag. I took some snacks, books to read, spare clothes.

I went to my school; attended the assembly and then our buses came! I sat in the bus with one of my best friend Vedantika. I could see the beautiful sunrise scenery with magnificent hills. I and my friend were just chit-chatting with some other friends. Gradually, we started getting bored and also felt a little hungry. We opened our packets and tiffin filled with various snacks and started enjoying it. To our surprise, our teachers started a party playlist in the bus. We were really amused. We started singing, dancing and most importantly laughing loudly. We were shouting in delight and joy.

Finally, we reached our destination. But, here comes the difficult part. The bus driver was informed that before reaching the resort we need to cross a very small village and unfortunately the bus couldn't pass that road. As a result we had to walk 1.5 KMs on the kutcha road of the village. We saw many animals like cow, hen, goat and sheep. We also experienced a beautiful nature scenery and cool breeze. We could see birds chirping on the trees and people living contentedly. We realized how different is city life from village and both have their own advantages as well as disadvantages.

When we reached the resort at last, I was amazed by its resplendence. The guide explained us about the adventure activities and games. First, we were given our breakfast snack which was a yummy Vada-pav. We ate it joyfully and then we were called to the swimming pool. We were really so enthusiastic about it and changed our clothes as soon as possible. I and my friends went there together and enjoyed swimming for a long time and we didn't want to come back but yes, other adventurous activities were waiting for us so we had to go! Our next game was a Zorb ball fight between two people. My partner was a Karate champ- Sanvi so I lost but enjoyed a lot. I also played games like 'Balancing Rope Bridge', 'Air Lifting Rope', 'Commando Crawl', 'Commando Net', 'Tree Swing', 'Zipline' and ' Bamboo Bridge '. We were all exhilarated and then we had lunch- A delicious Punjabi Platter with beverages.

Finally, it was time for us to leave. We had to again walk 1.5 KMs as we did in the morning time. But this time we embraced the beauty of the sunset and also took some photos with our teachers. We went on the bus and had some more evening snacks. We felt a little nostalgic but also relished the moments. We reached our school and home safely and of course shared this same story with our other friends and relatives.
