This year on Diwali, I was at my hometown, Bhubaneswar because we always get a Diwali Vacation of 20 days. But it's not that stress-free as we are given loads of assignments. One of the assignments which tired me up was the English one. Our teacher allured us by telling us that it would be related to selfies making us excited; but the task was to take selfies in unusual situations. After a lot of brainstorming, I could finally take 5 selfies related to Diwali. Our physics assignment was also really tiresome- making an electroscope. Other assignments were related to research and solving which is OK.

On the day of Diwali, I and brother made a geometric rangoli, as it was his assignment LOL. In the span of those 3-4 days, we went out for some donations and then to some of our relatives' houses. Some also came to our home. In the eve, we placed diyas near the rangoli, in our balcony and on the terrace. There, we were allowed to burst firecrackers from 8 pm to 10 pm. So, we had our dinner as soon as possible and went upstairs. My grandma is really afraid of loud bombs but this time she came upstairs with us but didn't enter the terrace, she just stood at the doorstep and helped us in giving the firecrackers. We had a lot of fun bursting them. Once, when my father was experimenting with a rocket and surprisingly it crash landed on our neighbours' terrace XD. When my father and grandpa were bursting some noisy bombs, my mother, in order to make it more fun told them to burst it on the left-hand side, where one of my grandma's sisters stays and she's damn afraid of crackers. We were laughing like crazy thinking what her sister's reaction would have been. After bursting a lot of crackers, we went downstairs. With the quote "Kuch meetha ho jaye", we had sweets but sadly my grandpa couldn't have many as he has diabetes :(. We had a lot of different types of sweets made of milk, chhena and besan. Rasgulla is the Geographical Indication there so of course, I had a variety of it. My favourite one was baked Rasgulla which one of our close family friend gave us to try out.

Once while my mom had a talk with that family friend of ours, when only 2-3 days in Odisha were left, she expressed her gratitude for helping us a lot and told that we all loved that new kind of Rasgulla. The very next day at about 6.30 in the morning, he came home to meet us, but I and my brother were sleeping when he gave another bunch of those sweets. As we both siblings couldn't meet him in the morning, he also came the same evening to meet us and gave us another bounty of sweets and savory snacks. When he was leaving, I didn't touch his feet as he doesn't want unmarried girls to do so, rather hugged him, because he is the one touch feels really fatherly after my grandpa and dad!

While my mother was packing everything, she saw that one of the sweets was a sweet made up of Amul powder, remember the milk powder which melts in mouth when we take a scoop. Every kid loved it back then. So, when my mom had a talk with him later, he told that he gave this specific sweet because he remembered that once my mom told him that in childhood, she loved that powder's milky and sweet taste a lot! When I heard this, I was touched. How could person pay heed to such minute details of his loved one!!<33

So that's how my Diwali vacation went! We also went to nearby temples, hills, Sea beach at Puri, waterfalls, and to our village.
