It is just a miracle. Seventeen days battle against corona by both my wife and me. I can't envisage how we managed to survive the dreadful corona pandemic. Miles away from the native place and close relatives -completely in isolation.

The days were so comfortable and happy just before the beginning of the second wave of the corona. Working as a private teacher in Telangana during the pandemic is certainly a challenging task. Many times we were compelled by our relatives to go back to our ancestral house in Kerala. But we were reluctant and confident that we would be safe in Telangana. Unfortunately, we were hit by corona.

During the initial days of the corona, we were quite anxious. Luckily we were endowed with unprecedented support and courage from the correspondence of my school, some of the Keralites who have settled here, a couple of local friends and my house owner, a good samaritan also backed us. The very first week of the corona is quite horrible and unbearable. We were bedridden and our teenage son has shouldered the responsibilities. Fortunately, we were provided food by an organization.

I am quite reserved and a little egotistic. My life has been confined to my own family. Surprisingly, the help and support rendered by people around me, especially the locals and Keralites prick my conscience. Many times we use to shed tears while having the meal since many of those items were sent by some of our close and distant friends. The selfless help rendered by those people helped me to understand who are the real friends and good samaritans. It also helped us to know the essence of love, kindness, empathy and generosity. I came to know how selfish I was. I was aware of the purpose of life and decided to change my outlook and perception so as to get rid of prejudice. Then I decided that I should live like a human during the post-corona period.
