A Big Misunderstanding

Once there was an old lady by the name of REBECCA and she loved gardening. She had a black cat named ASH and a garden behind her house where she grew plants like roses, lavender, money plant, and many more. It was totally covered with plants on all four sides. In the middle, she had a table with 5 chairs for having tea-parties, painting competitions and jokes with her friends.

One day when she woke up from her afternoon nap to water her plants, she saw her cat scratching on the door. She moved him away and took the watering jug and went outside to water her plants. Just as she was about to water her money plant she screamed and went inside to call the police. She said over the phone "Oh my, come quick, my gold is stolen". The police arrived as quickly as they could.

They started investigating the scene where the crime took place and started questioning her. They asked Rebecca how and what time the gold was stolen. She replied, " I don't know dear! , I was taking my afternoon nap and when I woke up to water my plants I saw my cat Ash scratching on the door." She stopped to take a breath and continued, " I thought that he wanted to go out and play in the garden, so I told him to sit on his bed while I would water the plants and give him his food so that he could go out and play".

The police stopped her as he was getting no answers but, instead was getting a free story-time with Rebecca. He said in a polite voice, " Mam, please get to the point, how was the gold was stolen!!" Rebecca added that she did not know how it had been stolen. The man asked her one last question, "mam, could you describe to me how much the gold weighed and how costly was it? " " My goodness dear, you ask a lot of questions, " Rebecca replied. The man got annoyed and said, " get to the point".

Rebecca thought that he was stressed and asked him to sit down while she made tea and cookies for him. He said, " Thank you for this snack mam but, I must really get back to investigating this case! Could you please tell me how much the gold weighed and how costly it was?" Rebecca replied, "Dear, you already know that I am an old lady so, how do you expect me to carry such heavy material in this age?" The police could not understand and asked her the same question again. Rebecca replied," dear, the gold is actually my money plant leaf!" The police were shocked and asked her, " mam, how can it be? A gold money plant leaf?" "Dear, have you seen the round table in the middle?" asked Rebecca. The man replied, "yes, what about it?" "well you see, I was having a little drawing competition with my friends, when accidentally I spilled some gold paint over it! I did not notice it until I went out to water it that very day !"  "Mam thank you for this free storytelling session but, you should have realized that you have just wasted our time just for investigating a stolen money plant leaf," said the police and left!

After that, the lady never bothered the police for investigating such type of cases and just tried to solve it all by herself.
