The Nag
The Nag
It is better to live on the roof, says Proverbs, than with a nagging wife.
Risk heat, cold, rain, storm, to escape a partner of life
Could it be her constant whine that raises man's hackles?
Or her insecurity that tightens the shackles?
Nagging, explains the prophet, is like water going drip drip drip
Or like an old man climbing a sandy hill, slip slip slip
But pray, tell me why a woman would want to be a nag?
Unless she lost his attention to a spouse-stealing hag?
Better to live with an angry bear than with an angry wife, says the prophet.
But isn't it wiser not to turn either angry and your bed to forfeit?
The nag nagging nagger is an unappreciated soul
And if you handle her with love, life would be blissfully whole.
