The Blue-Bibliophile

Settling in my room, facing the lawn, 

I lay on my bed and turned the lamp on, 

I picked my favorite thriller book, 

Which lay on the table placed in the nook. 

Dark as the ebony, was the night, 

With the stars twinkling shiny bright.

From underneath the bed, came,

A huge blue figure with an unknown name! 

He was blue as a whale, 

And let out a sharp wail, 

He only had one huge eye, 

Looking at it, fright came by!

He grinned in his teeth of ivory, 

His skin was fluffy and furry, 

He jumped beside me, as I lay, 

Indicating me that he'd stay.

In his wail he conveyed, 

He didn't want to invade, 

But my book, he wanted to read,

Though he belonged to the monster breed! 

Around my neck, he put his arm,

In his eyes, I saw a wonderful charm, 

He brought from the underneath,

Some crunchy fries for his teeth!

He didn't let me feel aggressive, 

But the blue monster seemed impressive,

He flipped to the previous page, 

In the book, he seemed to be engaged!

Over night, I found my book-buddy

Who was so interested to study, 

We'd make ourselves, some coffee, 

And into the book world we'd flee! 

Now, every night we sleep on the bed, 

And together, we have the books read! 

The blue book buddy, he is indeed, 

As we together sowed the reading seed!
