Iridescence
Iridescence
The setting sun gleamed in dazzling hues
Of the pinks, the oranges and the blues,
Delineated in silhouette were the trees,
With the sound of the birds' soothing tweets!
Over the placid and serene water
Was a tiny tortoise who tottered,
And on the river bank lay a mermaid,
Enjoying the sunset's many-hued shade.
She's filled with chic and charm,
Her heart affable and warm,
Without the slightest fright,
Her soul shimmers shining bright!
Her chin placed in her hands,
Looking in front, where stands,
The tortoise, tiny and tottering,
Filled with a lot of zest and zing!
Tiny as a star, brilliant as well,
Brown as wood, was his shell,
His tender-heart reflects in his eyes,
The tortoise is nothing less than wise!
The tortoise was her dearest pal,
Boosting each other's morale,
He was the pearl to her seashell,
Their bond was like an enchanted spell!
When they met to chat, every sunset,
All their troubles they'd forget.
As the twilight turned pitch dark,
Their eyes lit up like the stars' spark!
