The Mirror
The Mirror
I look into the mirror
Look what I see
A little girl just grown so big
With lines and wrinkles on her cheek.
I look into the mirror
Look what I see
The smile which took over the
Shrill laughter
That made the home cheerful
As it should be.
I look into the mirror
Look what I see
The dark tresses which match
The darkness around the eyes
With streaks of white
That tell you of the sunshine
That she had all seen.
I look into the mirror
The girl looks back at me
She asks me if I know her
Or is it someone new that she sees.
Oh mirror you still do tie me
To what I left behind
You bring back all the happiness
That I had as a child.
