If Dreams Could Come True

I woke in the middle of the night

I was somewhere I never knew

I went up and down the mountains

Across the sea, I flew.

I landed in a garden

With beautiful flowers around

A little bench under the tree

Saw a fountain in the middle

With music in the background.

It was simply an amazing place to be

But I knew not where I was

I suddenly saw someone

Coming from far across.

Who could it be I wondered

Where I was to be known

I see the man coming towards me

In between the beautiful flower rows.

I was thrilled to see who it was

Tears came rolling down my eyes

It was my Dad who had left a year ago

Leaving us all behind.

I held on to him and told him

Dad, please do not go again

Come back and stay with us

We cannot see the mother's pain.

He held my hand and told me

I am always here with you

Whenever you feel lonely

Just smile and you will feel

I am near you.

He gave me a beautiful bouquet

I know he was fond of flowers

He patted me and said

You are my brave good girl

Suddenly he did depart.

I woke up and saw

I was on my bed and in my room

It was just a dream

But I met my loving father

I hope it had come true.
