Fly Free

I had to fly away

Had stayed caged for many a years

I flapped my wings against the walls

But no one understood

Nobody heard.

I had a lot to say

There were people around

But no one came to help

Even if they heard me cry out loud.

Today I found the door open

Maybe God has made a way

For me to escape and run away

Fly far away from the cage.

I took sometime to take the flight

I had forgotten how to fly

A few stumbles but I got up

Now I was free to fly far and wide.

It is lovely to feel the freshness

Of the air and the breeze

I was now out from the dark

Where it was cold, and I did freeze.

I ran and jumped and danced

I was happy to be free

I could shout out loud

As much as I could

There was no one to stop me.

Tears roll down of happiness

I laughed for quite sometime

I could understand what freedom is

After a very long time.
