Moonlight
Moonlight
Never have I ever, gazed so long into the night
To see nothing, just a patch of heavenly light
But to call it a patch, I would be unfair to you
For you, moonlight, are the queen of the dark sky
Your pearls twinkle aimlessly above
Like jewels of pure and soothing love
But none can match the peaceful view
Of your face’s splendid cove
Shine, shine and shine so brilliantly
The vices of my land are set aside subtly
Your tantalizing call to join you up there
Makes me wish that the night goes endlessly
O’ the queen of the night sky
What captivating spell have you cast tonight?
All my dreams seem so trifling now
I just wish I could jump a little bit high
The subtle savor of your innocent light
As it shines on me ever so bright
Makes me never want to look back
From the calming peace of this sumptuous night
O’ moonlight, dawn is away only a blink of an eye
The end of this night seems a white lie
Don’t let tomorrow’s be incomplete without you
For you, moonlight, are the queen of the dark sky!
