The Inner Voice

The Inner Voice

2 mins 77 2 mins 77

What makes people

Do much wrong

Is it truly out of choice

Heartless and so brutal

Paying no heed to

The inner voice.

They slash, they steal

And care two hoots for

What they trample upon

Their selfish needs

Their prime concern

Selling humanity for a song.

The victims of the slander

Sufferers of undeserved harm

The anger and

The bloody wrath

The remnants of the storm.

We stand as silent spectators

Part of the deafening noise

Feeling miserable

As we turn away

Silencing the inner voice.

Let's take a vow

To pay some heed

And not look the other way

Let's be the sunshine

That does emerge

To fade away the grey.
