Justice Adjourned
Justice Adjourned
I looked up at the clear black sky
The darkness looped the doom
Not a single star was shining
Not a ray to dispel the gloom.
Challenges faced were many
Truth was out to stare
Stare at, all those bloody hands
That had killed without a care.
Crackdowns and exposures
Highlights of all news
Arrests and mudslinging
Consequences of sharing views.
Are we right in trusting
People whom we trust
Protectors and offenders
Joining hands for lust.
Death of their conscience
Ethics already burnt
Blinded and steered by power
Justice remains adjourned.
We know by now who did it
Murmurs all around
What we need is
Conclusive action
Divulge the facts
That have been found.
This isn’t the time
To change sides
This isn’t the time to sway
Don’t let the truth
Be slandered now
In this dirty power play.
Living within steely walls
In your plush cocoon
How long will you stay protected
The truth will be out soon.
