It Burns
It Burns
Deep inside the core of the Earth
It burns- Giving out heat.
The scorching heat unbearable
The birds fly out from their cosy nests.
The blaze chars all in its way
Encompassing flora and fauna all alike.
Tender and vulnerable
The burrows are all empty.
The shacks all forlorn
Mankind struggling to
survive.
I yearn to break free
Away from the shackles.
Let me fly, float, flitter
Aloft deserting my brethren.
Into the land of light,
Light with a mellow hue.
Where it’s always bright,
Darkness bids adieu.
Help me get there
To my heart’s desire.
