Rain drops
Rain drops
The raindrops as they fall
Over the window of my hall
I sit in silence and trace
In my memory your face
The deep brooding eyes
The ones that hid the lies
Your deceit and bluff
That I couldn't see enough
I remember it all
As the rain drops fall
From the leaves of the trees
In my garden green
The first kiss under the eaves
On a mid-summer cool eve
Me melting in your arms
And fooled by all your charms
As a raindrop falls near me
A tear drops on my cheek
Reminding me of heart break
You took all you could take
I kept giving until I ebbed
Stuck like a fly in a web
Your true face always hidden
To my naivety, truth forbidden
And yet I love the rain
I can disguise my pain
My tears I can hide
Raindrops I claim them snide
So let it rain let it rain some more
With life's sorrow, I can then settle a score!
