Is this the end?

The day started with

the news headline

"A day of victory" -

to be marked in the history

for after a long battle

of protests, petitions and refusals,

finally ( as they think),

the demons were hanged,

their courage was banged,

their souls were liberated

and then all celebrated

with roars and laughter

with sweets and crackers.

But behind the victory and the cheers

and the sparkling drops of tears

I found fire and fire everywhere.

The fire that kept burning

In Draupadi, in Sita

in Nirbhaya or Asifa

The fire of revenge

that destroys the demons

like Ravan or Dushashan

Mukesh, Binay or Pawan

the socalled rapists,

the barbarians, the beasts.

Now there is celebration everywhere

The joy of an unknown victory

The revenge fulfilled

The devils punished

But is this the end?

Or just a new bend?

Will there be freedom

from lust, rape and revenge?

Or the fire will spread

and the courage?
