The Last Page
The Last Page
The sky was still blue
With patches of winter clouds,
But the air was disturbed
With the traffic and the crowds.
Folks were in the mood
Of festive celebration,
As their planet completed
One more revolution.
There was hope, there was fear
There were promises to rise high,
There was noise, there was chaos
There were prayers touching the sky.
It was the last day of the year
That once emerged amidst such cheers,
Of lights and sounds
And dreams to wipe the tears.
The hearts, the eyes were all desirous
To complete the last page,
Imagining to add newness
To the new age.
