Wedding Dress

There were marriage preparations going on. It was just about a week ahead. Neelima was planning to have a bachelor party with her friends. She was riding on a roller coaster of emotions like anxiety, tension, excitement and all. Although, she knew him for 2 years.

Neelima and Anish met for the first time in a library when they both had picked the same book. It was the last piece that was left, over which they had a little fight. Soon Anish realised that fighting with Neelima was of no use, nobody could beat her in discussion. That day, he not only gave her that book but also his heart. That day, he just came there by coincidence but after that, he went to the library on a regular basis. He devoted himself to books, the things he hates, just to be close to her. He had read many books, just to share feedback with her. As time passed, he was successful in getting entry into her heart. Neelima was falling for him. Even he knew it. The day he proposed to her, was like their best day ever. Neelima couldn't say a no to him.

 They were ready to change their status from single to mingle. They started dreaming about their marriage. The only obstacle was Neelima wasn't courageous enough to talk to her parents about her relationship with Anish. He thought of a plan to convert their love marriage into an arranged marriage. Anish talked to his parents and they were ready to accept Neelima as their daughter-in-law, only if they found her as a perfect match for him. Anish had already told his family about his plan to have a love-cum-arrange marriage. As they both belong to the same city, it was easy for his parents to meet hers. After the initial enquiry, they found that Anish's parents were known to Neelima 's parents. It got super easy for them. Things were going so favourable for them, they didn't expect it, not even in their wildest dreams. Things sorted out as Neelima's parents were ready for this marriage.

They got engaged after about 2 weeks. Soon after the engagement, both families met several times to discuss the marriage.

They met their priest and the auspicious time called muhurat for the wedding was selected. It was about 2 months ahead. When Anish came to know that the wedding has been decided to take place after 2 months, he was disappointed. He asked Neelima to convince her parents that he wanted to marry her as soon as possible. He couldn't wait anymore and 2 months was a very much longer period of time. Neelima had no problem with two months gap between their engagement and wedding but Anish was not ready to wait for it. Neelima and his family hardly convinced him to wait until 2 months. 

Coming back to the present, the wedding was just one week ahead. Both the families were preparing for the Grand day. They have planned it to be a lavish party, nobody couldn't have imagined ever. Both were restricted to talk to each other as per the rituals. Both felt that one week as like a month. Soon mehndi, sangeet and other rituals were performed and the wedding day came. Neelima couldn't sleep all night. She was nervous, excited. Actually, she could not express her feelings as she was not able to understand it herself.

Neelima was sent to the beauty parlour. She got ready for her day. She was looking like a princess in that shimmery pink lehenga. Nobody was able to move his eyes from her. It is rightly said that a girl who used to be simply dressed daily got an unmatchable glow on her special day. Her wait got over as she reached the palace. The groom was expected to come at 8:00 p.m. At about 7:30 p.m., Neelima's father got a call from her in-laws. They said something and her father got a fit. Everyone was shocked that what had happened to him suddenly? The person who was so happy about his daughter's marriage, how could he get an anxiety fit? He revealed that Anish had called off the marriage. Neelima was broken. She didn't know what to do. She tried calling him but he didn't answer any of her calls. Everyone was wondering why did Anish take such a drastic step. Neelima was still lying there on the floor beautifully dressed in that wedding dress.
