Wife's Broken Heart
Wife's Broken Heart
Once upon a time, there was a couple Jennie and James.
They used to love each other too much.
Years passed and life was going well.
A point came when Jennie didn't agree to a few points of James.
James: Jennie, I don't expect this from you.
Jennie: James, I do disagree with your points this time because they look unethical to me and I have the right to object to that.
James: This is my life and you are not supposed to interrupt in that.
Jennie: It's our life, not just yours. So, as your soulmate, I can discuss and object to the things which are not going right between us.
But James failed to understand Jennie's point. He had never heard Jennie objecting to any act of him, so it was not acceptable for him the objection coming from her after 15 years of their marriage.
One day, the anger of James went very high and he called Jennie's parents.
James: Hello Dad, this is James.
Jennie's Dad: Hello James, how are you. It's been a long we had a word. Hope all going good at your end!
James: No Dad. I just called you to say that I can't live anymore with your daughter. Please take her away.
Jennie's Dad: Shocked and with tumbling low voice; what is the matter, Son?
James: I think she doesn't want to live with me anymore.
Jennie's Dad: Relax, fights do happen between husband and wife. I will talk to Jennie. Don't worry.
With a heart full of sadness Jennie's dad put the phone down.
Jennie was listening to this conversation from a corner.
Soon after James call, Jennie's dad called Jennie.
Jennie's Dad: Hi Jennie, how are you.
Jennie: Hey Dad, I am good. How are you and Mom doing?
Jennie's Dad: We are good dear.
Got a call from James, is everything fine?
Jennie: Pretending knowing nothing; yes all good dad.
I have asked him to buy me a new car on my bday and we are fighting about that.
She laughs to pretend that what James told her dad was just a reaction to that fight which is just a good fight and nothing serious.
Jennie's Dad: Ohhh!! I was tensed as James called me to take you away.
Jennie: OMG!! Laughs...How can he say that ... He won the bet.
Jennie'Dad: What bet?
Jennie: We had a bet that if he will call you saying all this, we will buy the car of his choice.... and I lost the bet ... and now we will have to buy a sports car.
Jennie's Dad: Laughs!
Both Jennie and her Dad talked on a very light note for few minutes and Jennie succeeded in making his Dad believe the lie that it was just a bet and all are too good between her and James.
Soon after putting down the phone, Jennie went to James, sat beside him, and called James Dad
Jennie: Hello Dad, how are you doing?
James Dad: I am good Jennie, how are you doing? How is James?
Jennie: I am good Dad. Just called you to say that I can't live with your son, please take him away.
I have been beside him for the last 15 years; during his all ups and downs, his success and failures; but now I think I am tired of being misunderstood.
James Dad: Shocked... What exactly has happened Jennie?
Jennie: Nothing and everything.
James Dad: Don't worry, I will talk to him. You just relax and don't worry.
Jennie: Thanks Dad, have a good day.
James heard this conversation between Jennie and his Dad.
He was shocked to hear that Jennie said that his Dad should take him away as she can't live with him anymore.
On listening to this
James: How can you call my dad and say you can't live with me and he should take me away.
Jennie: Same way darling as you called my dad and said the same.
This home belongs to both of us.
I earn my livelihood and not dependent on you.
We pay equally for our house monthly installments.
Then also, you think that you owe this right to call my parents and I don't.
As you feel that your Dad has got into tension by my this statement, so did my Dad got tensed.
You never called my Dad when I used to do so much good to you and your family and appreciate me; if not at that time, then why now?
Listening to this James felt ashamed. He realized his mistake.
James: I am sorry Jennie. I think we have been brought up in that environment where men have always dominated without even appreciating the efforts put by his wife and her family for their well being.
The step taken by Jennie proved out to be bliss and thereafter James and Jennie lived happily ever.
Moral of the story:
Don't take your wife and her family for granted, they are even respectful members of society. They have taught their daughter to give you respect and Do expect the same from you!!
