Lisa gulped as she saw her best friend Violetta, glaring at her. Violetta or Vi, as she called her, just left a note in her hand. She read it, it said, "We cannot be best friends anymore." Lisa immediately woke up. So it was just a bad dream. She noticed that she had really been crying. "That's it," she said, "I'm gonna tell her."

Lisa and Violetta were best friends. They did almost everything together. And as the years passed, they created a sisterly bond as they grew more closer. When they were small, they both had a dream; they wanted to become painters. Lisa was not so good at drawing, but she tried. Then, as they grew, Lisa began to prefer acting over painting. She was excellent at it, no doubt, but she couldn't show it off at school as she was afraid that she would break her best friend's heart. But now, as they both had passed their 10th Board Exam, and were going to pursue their dreams; Lisa found it difficult to tell her best friend that she could not be with her in college and that thought was haunting her.

Lisa went into the bathroom to wash up. When she saw herself in the mirror, she almost squealed. Her mascara was spread all over her tear-stained face, she had bags under her eyes and she looked perfectly horrible. After her bath, she quickly wore a long, flowy dark green dress with floral designs on it. She put on some powder and lipstick and smiled at her transformation, forgetting her sorrows for a while. Then she immediately set off to her best friend's house wearing her favorite green sandals. She reached her house and rang the bell. Violetta opened the door and immediately broke into a smile, "Hey, long time no see!" Lisa forced a smile even though a lot was going on in her mind; what would happen to her smiling friend when she heard the truth? She entered the house and looked around, Violetta had a beautiful house, it was cozy and it had some of Violetta's paintings framed and kept beautifully. Violetta smirked when she saw her best friend gawking, "If you're done admiring my house, can we go into my room?" Lisa realized what she had been doing and blushed. She nodded her head. They went upstairs and sat on her neatly kept bed. Violetta had a smaller room than Lisa's, but she managed to keep it well. Taking a deep breath, Lisa told Violetta, "Vi, I need to tell you something. I have been hiding it from you for years but now I have decided to tell you. The thing is that I don't think I want to pursue our dream, I want to pursue my dream. Since we were in the seventh standard, acting caught my eye. I tried to do it and I could! But I didn't want to tell you that because it would break your heart." Violetta smiled and said, "Of course it's completely ok Li. All I want is that we still be friends and I'm not going to force you at all!" Li and Vi hugged, giggling. Violetta insisted that Lisa stay on a sleepover and so Lisa agreed. After a looooooooooooong time of giggling and teasing each other Lisa and Violetta went to sleep. And Lisa learned the biggest lesson of her life:

We should never be afraid to tell our loved ones the truth.....
