This is how it ended

"If only she knew, he'd break her heart into two" 

The summer holidays had come to an end. Dina wasn't excited about getting back to school. She wasn't ready to face her feelings for Hrihan. She wasn't sure if he felt the same way. 

Hrihan wasn't too excited to talk to her either. He did try a few times but it was all in vain. It seemed like he didn't really value their friendship anymore.

He'd found new friends and he was happy. Even though it broke her heart, she kept her distance from him.

Months went by, they'd grown apart. She missed him terribly but she was stern on her decision. His ego wouldn't let him back out either. Neither of them was ready to talk to one another.

It was only until two days before his birthday, that he finally decided to break the silence. Things kinda went back to normal after that. They'd become good friends afresh.

Dina was over the moon but her happiness didn't last long when she realised that Hrihan wasn't the same person anymore. He didn't really seem to be putting effort into the friendship. He'd be goofing around with his other friends while he only managed to say a "Hi" to her. Deep down, Hrihan was aware of Dina's feelings for him but every time she'd try to talk to him about it, he'd make excuses and avoid it.

Dina grew tired of his mixed signals. She wasn't sure if she wanted the friendship anymore. It almost seemed like she was ready to give up on him.

It was during one of their recent fights when they'd stopped talking...once again!

However, Hrihan did something quite unusual. He returned a book that he'd borrowed from her...only for her to find his goodbye note a week later.

Her soul fell apart and a storm of tears raged her eyes. Although she was heartbroken, she knew she'd be better off without him. It took her a while but she finally gathered herself to leave a polite note in his hands. 

She merrily walked away breathing a sense of relief, knowing it was time to let go. He was stunned as he watched her fade away knowing he'd never get her back again...
