The nature of your thoughts decides the caste which you belong too. In the Gita, your thoughts are divided into three categories- sattvic, rajasic and tamasic. In the above verse, GUNA means the nature of your thoughts and KARMA means the work that you do.

During the Kurukshetra War, Lord Krishna states to Arjuna in Mahabharata that: "We are all souls, spiritual beings (Gita 2.13), entitled to rejoice in eternal love with the supremely lovable and loving God, Krishna." When our loving nature is contaminated by selfishness, we start loving things more than persons, especially the Supreme.

But Love is being dominated by politics, casteism and honour. Like such only happened the same in this present world.

In the early morning at 5:00 AM, an young couple is running away from a few people in the four roads of Mukkonam and hides in a nearby terrace, who are chasing them with swords and guns. They trigger the gun and shoots towards them.

Despite this, they escapes from the place and hides. In that place, the couple recalls their love story and family.

"Gautham. Do you remember how we fell in love with each other?"

"Yes Samyuktha. I very well remember that."

FEW MONTHS AGO:

Gautham had been born in a rich-upper class family of Gounder community in Pollachi. His grandfather Yogendran is the facto head of the family. After the demise of his parents, his grandfather raises him up, taughting him of moral values, ethical values and casteism. They are based near to Valanthayamaram.

On the other hand, Samyuktha had been born to a rich brahmin family of the same place near Anaimalai. Her father Narayana Sastry and Gautham's grandfather are arch-rivalries. Their mutual hatred continues generation after generations.

Samyuktha have born to a brahmin family. Henceforth, she is taught of Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata at the young age unlike Gautham. She is henceforth a brilliant girl.

FIFTEEN YEARS LATER:

Days and Years passes as such. Now, Gautham have finished his college and is working in a MNC company of Hyderabad. He returns back to Pollachi in order to meet his grandfather, getting leave for some days.

Gautham is a hot-tempered, cool and smart guy, who abides by the principal and he strictly follows Vegitarianism.

His grandfather requests him to contest for his upcoming elections in the place, to which he agrees to. At the same time, Samyuktha also returns to Pollachi and decides to contest for her father's upcoming elections. However, she gets mocked by her family for being a women. Despite following some challenges, she contests for the elections. While, Gautham collides with his close friend Adhithya and contests for the upcoming elections.

While contesting for the election to the people, Gautham enters into a big argument with Samyuktha. As a result of this, he gets slapped by her after the argument goes heater.

People laughs at him and he feels insulted. He is additionally surprised that, a girl have bravely slapped him face to face. Since the childhood days, Gautham hates girls being a misogynist. But, her tight slap surprises him a lot. He decides to remain silent and moves on.

FEW DAYS LATER:

Few days later, Samkyuktha sees Gautham and Adhithya in an young couple's house.

"Sir. I am not interested to live with her. She is very arrogant and always fights with me." The husband said.

"I too not interested to live with him sir."

"Ok. Let me ask you one thing. You did love marriage right?"

"Yes sir. We both loved each other, eloped from our parents and got married."

"You both didn't even consider how your parents raised you us by feeding you, guiding you and training you a lot. Despite their opposition, you got married. You have to prove the worth right." Adhithya said.

"The only way you can conquer me is through Love and there I am gladly conquered. Do everything you have to do, but not with greed, not with ego, not with lust, not with envy but with Love, compassion, humility, and devotion. I think you could understand this." Gautham said.

The couple reconciles each other. Samyuktha realizes his good and charming nature and begins to fall in love with him after following him to a serious of circumstances.

Gautham too falls in love with her. During the course of time, Gautham studies Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata under Samyuktha's guidance. One day, Samyuktha calls him for her birthday party in a hotel room.

Gautham gets moved by her beauty and they two spend a memorable time together. While speaking, Gautham looks into her eyes and leaves a smile.

He touches her arm and leans in and asks her about her family. After holding her gaze by going close to her, he leans in a bit more and touches her cheek.

He tells her that, "She is looking beautiful" and kisses her lips softly. Pulling her close by holding the waist, he feels the fabric of her dress by making her and himself nude. They both end up having sex.

A few hours later, Gautham plans to make an exit.

"Where are you going Gautham?"

"My work is finished. And that's why I I going."

"What? Are you joking?"

"No. I am very serious. Did you think that I really loved you? Never. You slapped me infront of everyone in that place. How dare you? No girls used to come closer and talk with me. But, you touched my ego by slapping me. That's why I planned to teach you a harsh lesson, by making you lose your virginity. You are such a beautiful girl Samyuktha. You know, I enjoyed your beauty by touching your body all over. Wow...wow!! You still more look sexy, you know." Gautham said.

"Chi! I believed you to be good. But, you bastard cheated me ah? You have used my sentiment and emotion as a weak point right. I will see you da." Samyuktha said and leaves the place in tears.

While a happy Gautham arranges a party with Adhithya and his grandfather in the home for celebrating his success for avenging Samyuktha. Adhithya drinks to the fullest and talks with Gautham and grandfather.

However, an angry Samyuktha comes to the place and she attempts to kill Gautham. But, Gautham's maternal aunt Yamini intervenes and begs her to calm down. Adhithya have a change of heart and insists Gautham to honour his marriage, regardless of caste or religion.

But strange events starts to occur in the house. Since, Gautham's grandfather sees Samyuktha in the house and in the heat of moment, he kills Yamini when she tries to defend them from his bloodthirsty gang.

"Gautham. Please obey my words da. Go away from here. I will take care of everything." Adhithya said and send them off from the place.

"What about you da?" Gautham asked him.

"Don't worry about me."

Gautham goes with Samyuktha and the duo stay in Gautham's close friend Azad's house near Komangalam of Pollachi. Samyuktha is still more angry with Gautham and misunderstands him to be a terrorist, linked with Azad. She further thinks that, he have brought her to this place in order to sell her for terrorist activities.

Hence, she harms Gautham with a broken glass. Injuring him severely thus. Azad then treats him with his few Muslim friend's help.

"Who are these people, Azad brother?" Samyuktha asked him, after seeing a few handicapped children, standing in the mosque and praying at them.

"They are all poor handicapped people ma. Lost their physical capability, before few years when riots broke out here. We all have different caste, religion. But, still more problems are there among us. But, I try to prove myself by permitting equality despite many of our people are being ruthless in nature."

Samyuktha realizes her mistakes and additionally realizes the importance of secularism. She begrudgingly nurses Gautham. He asks her for forgiveness, and though she refuses to grant it, she shows that she still loves him through little actions of affection. However, their mutual grief soon brings them together, giving their love a second chance.

With Azad's help, they makes their marriage ceremony legitimate. Samyuktha tries to reconcile with her family members. However, to her surprise, he slaps her and sends out from his house and tells that, "He respects his honour and respect other than anything else."

His henchman tries to kill her. Since, being a brahmin Samyuktha's father doesn't wish to see blood stains in his house. Chased by two families, Gautham and Samyuktha goes for run. In the process, Azad is also killed.

Meanwhile, Adhithya gets admonished by Gautham's grandfather. He accuses the latter for respecting his friend's love by destructing the honour, which they were maintaining since generations. This makes Adhithya feel remorseful and he decides to kill Gautham with a heavy heart.

Then, Samyuktha's father comes to meet Gautham's grandfather.

"Their marriage is like stabbing our respective honour sir."

"Yes. You are right. We should maintain our honour. But, don't kill them kindly. Let's bring them back."

The duo pretends to agree with this. However, Gautham's grandfather and Samyuktha's father makes an ugly plan. The duo decides to kill Samyuktha and Gautham, instead of bringing them alive. Since, it's a shame to their family and community.

Adhithya finds out Gautham and goes along with his henchman in order to kill him and Samyuktha.

"Adhithya. You are killing me ah?"

"Sorry Gautham. I only told you to reconcile with Samyuktha. But, now I respect our honour. Now also nothing changed. Leave her and come with us. That's what I and my grandpa needed."

While speaking, Samyuktha's father henchman tries to kill Gautham 500 meters away. While, Gautham's grandfather henchman tries to kill Samyuktha 1000 meters away from the place.

At that point of time, Adhithya realizes that Gautham's grandpa have double crossed him and have fooled him. Henceforth, he takes a drastic step and safely rescues them after realizing his mistakes.

"Sorry da Gautham. I failed to understand the ugly game behind this. I didn't expect that our grandpa would do like this."

"He had been moved with honour, respect, community, religion and caste. That's why." Samyuktha said.

The news of harming the respective family reaches the community of Brahmins and Gounder respectively. The caste group become anger and starts to indulge in a violent clash and fights. About 268 houses in Anaimalai, Chomandurai Chittoor, Sethumadai, Rettiyarmadam and Valanthayamaram respectively.

1500 strong mob rampaged through Anaimalai and two smaller brahmin settlements near Anaimalai were set ablaze.

Over 200 houses, damaged at least 50 others, and allegedly looted valuables and cash worth lakhs of rupees. The mob rampaged for four hours and was brought under control after arrest of 90 men and an additional deployment of 1000 policemen.

Meanwhile, with Adhithya's help, Gautham and Samyuktha prepare to go for Udumalaipet to avoid problems and troubles from their respective families. While going in a bus, it stops in the middle near Kedimedu-Mukkonam roads. Samyuktha comes down to get a glass of water. However, her father's henchman spots her and seizes her.

Gautham bravely fights them off and manages to rescue Samyuktha, breaking her free. They are reunited briefly. Left with no more ways, the families of Gautham and Samyuktha decides to kill them off. Since, their marriage is a stab to their respective families, religious communities and further, would spoil their political careers. Joining forces, they decides to kill them instead of rescuing.

Chased by the group on either sides, Gautham runs along with Samyuktha and Adhithya towards a terrace in Mukkonam.

PRESENT:

Adhithya shoots his own henchman with Samyuktha's henchman on the other sides. Gautham also engages in a gun fight along with Samyuktha. All the three however realizes that, a very few bullets are been left.

"Blessed is a human birth, even the dwellers in heaven desire this birth, for true knowledge and pure love may be attained only by a human being. An action which is ordained, which is free from attachment, which is done without love or hatred by one who is not desirous of any reward—that action is declared to be Sattvik Gautham. Instead of getting killed by our own family members, we can die ourselves. Because Love could win instead of the hatred." Samyuktha said.

"Rather than be riddled with the bullets of our own family members, we can die of ourselves to let our love win the Hatred. I could name, verily love is the highest. Love & devotion that make one forgetful of everything else, Love that unites the lover with me." Gautham said.

The duo shoots and die in each other's arms smiling. Adhithya on the other hand, fights with the henchman and while fighting with them, he hears multiple gun shots from Gautham and Samyuktha. He rushes there and sees both of them dead.

Filled with guilty and remorse, Adhithya kneels down in tears. While the henchman, who also heard the gunshots check them if they are dead and go inform the two families, who leave from the place satisfied.

"I am sorry da, Gautham. I failed to understand your's true love. Eventhough you both died, your love emerged victorious da. Your love is always magnetic..."

Unable to bear their death and filled with remorse about his unforgivable mistakes, Adhithya shoots himself with his gun, recalling the memorable days that he had spent with Gautham. Smiling at him, he dies with his eyes going up and his mouth, showing the signs of laughter. Their body lies in the terrace.

EPILOGUE:

Honour killing is not new in our country it could be traced back to the time of partition of our country where several women were forcefully killed so that the honour could be preserved. Honour crimes violate Articles 14, 15, 19, 21 and 39 of the Indian constitution. The Increase in a number of honour killing is because the formal governance failed to reach to the rural areas and as a result, this practice continues and I today's world the scenario is that this killing for honour is not only confined to rural areas rather it is common in the metropolitan cities like Delhi.

There are some initiatives that are taken by our government against the bodies like khap panchayat such as the law commision have drafted a bill titled "Prohibition of Unlawful Assembly 2011". The bill provides for punishment fir bodies that have ordered killing of couples that are accused of love marriage. Also there are number of cases where the judiciary has given pronouncements against these extra-constitutional bodies.

But still, the cases of honour killing are reported and the states having the highest reported case of honour killing in Uttar Pradesh.

These crimes for honour violates human rights, infringes the right to live with dignity as per article 21 of the Indian Constitution. It shows the lack of attributes of empathy, love, compassion, tolerance among fellow human beings, creates a crisis of credibility in the government machinery to control such killings.

It undermines the integrity of institutions such as of police, judiciary etc.

It infringes the right to choose and creates stress, fear and trauma among the lower. It hampers a nation of integration, solidarity, corporation etc. It hampers peace and shows a lack of rational thinking capacity and emotional intelligence. It is not a crime against any individual rather it is a crime against the whole society at large where some group of person consider them more Superior and consider themselves above law.

With such kind of acts the ethical values of a society such as tolerance, respect for diversity, self -determination etc are degraded when such acts are committed.

It's high time that these people change their mentality and these people are no one else rather the parents because if parents are there to support you then these khap panchayat and other such persons are no one to punish you for the crime which you have not commited . There is a need to understand that love marriage are not a sin for society rather if you force someone to get married to that person whom he/she does not like then the person would not be able to lead a happy life. Laws are required to be more strict to tackle these killings and punish them who take laws in their own hand and take away the life of the innocent young adults. It high time for the khaps themselves to change and reform themselves with the changing times. It's not only in the state of Tamilnadu. But, also in several states of India.
