THE BEST BIRTHDAY

The time has finally come for my birthday. I was so glad. I planned a lot for my twenty-first birthday, but the lockdown canceled all of my plans. Do I decide to celebrate with my small family- my dad, mom, and my dog Linda.

My friends wished me via Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram,

“Happy Birthday Buddy”

“Happy long life, dear friend”

“May God blesses you and cherishes you”

“Let your life be full of happiness”

And so on. I replied to all the texts, “Thank you dear friend” with a smiling emoji. My parents blessed me on my birthday, with a kiss on the cheek. My mom made my favorite kheer for my birthday and fed me.

“To my sweetie” she was so happy,

My Dad was calm, “What did you get for me papa?”

“Sweetie, I have a surprise for you”

“Surprise” I wondered what could it be. He went to his room and brought a gift box.

“When did you get that,” my mom asked him in surprise,

My dad smiling, “I bought this before the lockdown; I know my girl’s birthday will arrive, so I got the gift in advance”

“Oh! You are so sweet dad” I embraced him,

“Open the gift” he encouraged me,

“What would it be?” I guessed and tore the wrapper and

“Oh my god! Titan – Raga watch” I couldn’t believe. I asked my dad for this watch, when we went shopping, at that time he was short of money he promised to get me later, I totally forgot about that but my dad didn’t forget it and bought the same costly watch I asked him for.

“Thank you so much dad” I was filled with happiness. I never expected such a surprising gift on my birthday,

“You are the best dad” I hugged him,

“You deserve the best sweetie” he responded,

“Okay, honey time for cutting cake”

My mom brought my favorite Butterscotch Cream cake; I was on cloud nine,

“Mom, you baked cake, when?” I and my dad were confused.

“I baked it yesterday night after you both slept”

“Oh mom you’re so sweet”

“Not only your dad even I have surprises for you” she smiled,

“Okay, I agree” my dad responded

“You two are the best gift I received” I hugged both of them.

“Yip, yip” my Linda came to me with two rose flowers in its mouth, I as well my parents were surprised, I knelt, it placed those flowers over my hand,

“So, you brought flowers as a gift, huh?”

“Bow, bow” it happily barked,

“I saw her going to our garden in the morning, she went there to get you roses,” my mom said,

“See, she brought flowers” my dad was amazed.

“you sweetie” I patted her head, she was so happy.

Then I cut the tasty cake and took photos of my precious gifts and shared them with my friends. They were amazed. I had celebrated a lot of my birthdays but this one in this lockdown was full of surprises and this is my best birthday ever.
