The Average Girl

Everyone talks about the success stories of famous people. There are many examples of people who fought and overcame great hardships with their talent. They reached great heights and achieved immense success.

However, one thing which I always wonder about is that these people were talented and the best in their fields. What about those who are average. Those who are good but not good enough.

Some are extremely talented and God gifted.

Some give their all to their passion and become the best in their work.

We also have some who are good at their work. They understand and have knowledge about everything still they are not good enough.

They are known as the average person.

Average meaning normal those who are not extraordinary but also not below the mark. They know their work well. Not in a particular field but on an average.

Let me tell you a story about one girl.

Once there was a girl who was average all her life.

She was talented but average.

She knew her way around various aspects.

She was a student who loved science in school.

In college, she changed fields and took commerce. She was amazing in accounts. Even though she was good at her work still she wasn't the best of all.

An introvert by nature she found it difficult to make her presence felt among people. Her thoughts were deep and meaningful which were heard only by her.

She learnt music and played the guitar well. She wasn't an expert but an average in that too, good but not good enough.

Well! She becomes average with people as well. She was friends with all. Always helpful and kind. She prayed for the best for all.

She was there for all when they needed hee but her cries were often muffled within her pillow. People tried to mould her as per their needs and she would always try to please all.

She channelised her emotions through art. She made some lovely artworks but she wasn't really the best.

She was like the goody-two-shoes who knew her way around a lot of things. Be it studies, art, music, writing or cooking. She was good in all. She was like a jack of all. She could never become a master of any. She liked doing and learning new things. She kept increasing her horizons each day and learnt about different avenues. She remained average throughout her life.

This is the story of many people around us.

She is not alone. Many will relate to her.

Is it bad to be average?

Should she have pursued one thing and given it her all? Should she have mastered one skill and excelled in it? Was it wrong to be a Jack of all and master of none?

There are many questions like these. If we look around we are all average. Only a few are extraordinary.

It is absolutely normal to be average. As long as you are happy snd satisfied with what you are doing, you are on the right path.

Success is not a destination it is a journey. A journey we travel a little each day. The steps may be small but they are significant.

Success is not measured by comparison with others worth. It is personal growth. How far one has come and how much you learnt through the journey. It depends on how useful you made your knowledge and implemented it in your life. Also, it can't be measured monetarily.

Being average is completely okay being ignorant to things is not.

So all the people who feel or think are average-

Keep learning new things each day and widen your horizons. When days seem a little hard hang in there a little longer, you will overcome it. Your skills in different aspects will help you in different stages of life.
