Sweetness Land

Anu grunted. She looked around her. She was lying on a meadow which was made out of candy! She got up. What a sight! She was standing next to a river. Not just any old river. A river made out of melted chocolate! “Is this some sort of dessert land”? she thought to herself. She started exploring the place which turned out to be a junk food forest. She walked through Ice Cream Jungle. She ran through French Fry Gardens. And then ate a few pieces of candy in Chocolate Park. The only thing she did not like about Sweetness Land was Mousse volcano which gave out mousse lava. Anu hoped it would not burst during her visit to Sweetness Land.

Then Anu heard a sound. A sound that a train makes. She ran up Pastry Hill to get a better look. She saw a train made out of popsicles in the distance. Then she saw it stopping in front of Pastry Hill Train Station. There was not a moment to loose. ran as fast as she could and luckily reached the station in time. She climbed into one of the carriages. There was somebody else in the carriage.

The creature had candy eyes. It had a bubble-gum tongue and a chocolate nose. It had wafers for arms and legs, and a big, round ice cream belly. “Who are you”, asked Anu. The creature just stared at her, realised she looked weird to the creatures of Sweetness Land. But then something surprising happened. The creature spoke. “Big Belly I am”, it said. understood that it was speaking in jumbled words. “Anu I am”, she replied. Big Belly nodded. Then he suddenly took out one of his candy eyes. screamed thinking Big Belly had just lost his eye. But the minute Big Belly took out his eye a new one appeared. Big Belly offered his eye to Anu. took it with trembling hands and ate it. The candy tasted marvelous. It tasted sweet but also tangy. It felt cold and refreshing on her tongue like a breath mint. It tasted like all the candies mixed! Just as she was about to thank Big Belly, she heard a sound. A loud sound like something had exploded. It was Mousse  volcano, which had blown up.

Oh no! What was she going to do? She would be burned to a crisp by mousse lava……………………………. “Anu, get up”! yelled Amma. Huh? Wasn’t she supposed to be in Sweetness Land? Why was she in her bedroom? wondered Anu. “Where is Ice Cream Jungle?” Anu asked Amma. “You’ve had a dream. Now go brush your teeth”, said Amma. Anu was disappointed. Sweetness Land was such a good place. But then she smiled. Maybe it was a dream, but it sure was a good one!
