“You can go in next”, the receptionist told me. I looked at my watch, 11:30. I had been waiting for almost 1 hour and was thoroughly fatigued. Finally, I can go in! Just then I heard someone rushing to the receptionist, “I have an appointment with doctor at 11. Sorry I am late”. I turned to see her.

“Good morning”, she greeted me with a broad smile. Her eyes twinkled with her smile. In a moment I had forgotten all my fatigue. She had large doe-like eyes, sharp nose with the perfect L curve, lips like lotus petals, butter like complexion and a lovely smile to top it all. God must have taken so much time to create such a perfect women like her! “Can I go in next?”, she told the receptionist in a melodious tone. What a befitting voice! Just then, my eyes fell on the mirror and I saw my own reflection.

Oh, what a pity! God did not have much time while creating me. Every feature was done in a hurry.

Why am I so ugly? No wonder my life is full of misery. An ugly lady like me can never get any happiness in life. That is the reason Nirvan never got attracted to me despite people thinking we have a fairytale marriage. Perhaps if I were as beautiful as her he would still be with me in a relationship. Not perhaps, I am sure, it was my ugly face that could not hold him back. Otherwise why would he go to another woman breaking up with me. My face is the root cause of all misery. Only if I could be as beautiful as her. Oh I wish! She is so lucky!

“Hi, I am Reema, are you waiting to see the doctor?” I was startled by her voice.

“Oh yes, I came for my elder boy, there he is”, and I showed Naman. He was playing with his younger sister Maya in the corner.

“Oh, you came with your kids. You don’t look like a mom honestly. How old are you?”

“I am 35, married, having 2 kids, boy of 10 and girl of 6, and am a senior director in a software MNC….”

Wow, she has such an impressive bio. And, I thought she must be 24/25. Can’t believe she is 35! And mother of 2!

She loves her kids so much. They look adorable. She is so lucky to have such a wonderful family. She looks such a loving mother. Why am I so unlucky? Its been 9 years that we are married and still I have not been able to become mother. Why is God so unfair to me? How I wish I had a life like her. She is so lucky!
