Run: The Race To Win

A badly wounded Akhil and Sai Adhithya are rescued by the local police officers of Bangkok and admits the duo in hospitals. While taken to the ICU, Akhil thinks about his dead love interest Ishika and his memorable moments with her before five months.

Akhil lived in a happy family consisting of his brother Nagendra, sister-in-law Logeshwari and nephew Nikhil. Akhil's brother Nagendra is a successful advocate and they are settled in Chennai, though hailing from Coimbatore district, their hometown.

Akhil's close friend Sai Adhithya is also from Coimbatore district, hailing from Kerala borders and his father is a strict and orthodox man who was against his wishes to join IPS initially, since he doesn't afford to lose his only son. Despite his opposition, Sai Adhithya eventually joined IPS when, Akhil motivated him to pursue what he wished, and henceforth, he is disowned by his father.

However, under Akhil's console, Sai Adhithya's father calms down, and eventually, they get reconciled. After the death of his father, Sai Adhithya returns to Chennai to stay with Akhil, since there is no one left except him.

He is serving as the ACP of Chennai and Akhil is working as an Architect in a company near Chennai, whose owner is a close friend of Nagendra. Comes Ishika, a middle-class girl from Tambaram, near Chennai and an Investigative journalist herself, has to face so many problems in her everyday life.

Ishika's father Muthu died due to heavy alcoholism, he indulged in it after the betrayal of his elder son, Joseph aka, Raja, and Ishika has to manage her family's financial problems to bring up her sister, Pooja, and mother Deeksha, who suffers from heart diseases.

Ishika's brother was in love with a Christian girl named Catherine whom, he married under his father's blessings, who sacrificed everything for his son's welfare and became a debtor, being humiliated by money-lenders. Hence, he indulged in drinks due to the humiliation.

Akhil and Ishika were in love for four years since college days and he has helped her father a lot in every means. It was Ishika's father who asked Akhil to marry his daughter for her well-being and from that time, Akhil adopted Ishika's family and solved their financial troubles.

Joseph's family didn't approve of this relationship and he makes hurdles for Akhil at any point in time. He takes the issue of Ishika's love to the church father but, he in-turn blesses Akhil and tells him, "God Bless you! Take care of Ishika." Ishika and Akhil's engagement gets over and three days before the marriage, Ishika goes missing who tells his mother that, she is going for an important investigation.

But, after days itself, she is found dead near the seashores of Chennai, shattering Akhil and he is not allowed to see Ishika's body by his own brother who asks him to remember the last visit of Ishika.

Sai Adhithya comes to meet Akhil, who is sitting in the graveyards of Ishika, upset. Here, Sai Adhithya asks Akhil, "Akhil. What are you doing here?"

"I don't know, Sai. What to do? What's happening? Nothing is understandable" said Akhil.

"Akhil. Do Ishika knows the secret that you and we maintain these two long years?" asked Sai Adhithya.

"Yeah…Being an investigative journalist, she very well knows about it," said Akhil.

"Is it? Had you told this to her?" asked Sai Adhithya.

"Yes. I told about my undercover investigation to Ishika and she agreed to help me whenever I felt needed and necessary. But, before that she died" said Akhil.

"I don't know when will you take charge as the official ACP of Chennai. But, take care da, Akhil. Because that DCP Sathya is keen on finding the person, who performs the undercover investigation" said Sai Adhithya.

"Ok," said Akhil and he walks to his home.

Meanwhile, on the same day, a doctor named Vijay Krishna aka., VK goes missing and the next day, he is found dead showing the signs of brutality. VK's family consists of his wife Gayathri, elder daughter Shalini and her husband the Hyderabad ACP Arjun Singh IPS(a soft and good guy) with younger daughters, Nisha and Ria. Shalini is a highly money-minded woman and is keen to grab the property of her father's. She hates Nisha since she is an intruder in her life on every occasion and is jealous of her.

DCP Sathya, to close the case, tells a note that, "Ishika and VK had an illegitimate affair and hence, they had been murdered by someone mysteriously" and this angers Ishika's mother and Akhil, who doesn't believe the words of Sathya.

"Akhil. For some days, please stay away from these things" said Lokeshwari.

"No sister-in-law. Until I find the truth behind Ishika's death, I will never cease off" said Akhil.

"Hey Akhil. Everyone is telling on the TV about Ishika right." Said Sai Adhithya and he fears to utter words.

"Hey, Sai Adhithya…Mind your tongue…Your police mind can say me thousands of reasons. I believe Ishika is good and innocent." Said Akhil.

"Stop it Akhil. Here, we are all saying this much but, you are standing by your's point. Are you a fool?" asked an angry Nagendra.

"Nagendra. Please be calm" said his mother, who just came there to see what happens.

Ishika's mother comes to meet Akhil and asks Akhil, "Akhil. Do you believe my daughter to be good?"

"What a question you asked me, mother? More than me, I believe Ishika and her love. She is my soul-heart" said Akhil.

"A boy like you and Ishika has never been united by the god, Akhil," said Ishika's mother.

"Ishika is not such a girl, Akhil," said Pooja.

"I know Pooja. I promise you that, Ishika is good and I will never focus on other issues, except Ishika's" said Akhil.

Akhil decides to begin his mission. However, again there comes an intruder in Akhil's life, Nisha. She complains about Akhil's involvement in her father's murder and makes him come to the police station to meet the Sub-Inspector, who himself has a grudge against Akhil.

Besides working as an Architect, Akhil used to work for Car agencies and on such occasion, Nisha came into his life. He seized her cars and on the last day also, it was he who ceased VK's car. Hence, Nisha suspects the involvement of Akhil's in the murders of VK and Ishika herself which, makes Akhil furious and he acts aggressively.

As a result, Akhil is taken into custody, and using this as a golden opportunity, the SI decides to raid Nagendra's house to check Akhil's room and Akhil is terribly feared since he has the IPS ID card in his rooms and fears that his undercover investigation might come to his brother's knowledge.

However, Adhithya manages to take the ID card of Akhil and his related things- gun and hides which, Nisha notices but, she remains silent and takes a snap photo of it. The SI feels frustrated and hence, he leaves the place prior to no evidence.

Nagendra now comes to Adhithya and asks him, "What did you hide in your pocket, Akhil?"

"Nothing brother," said Akhil.

"I am not a fool. Nisha has sent me in Whats-app and you have to tell me" said Nagendra.

Left with no choice and ways, Akhil is forced to tell that he is working as an undercover IPS officer to trap a big drug mafia groups in Chennai under the head of an MLA and this shocks Nisha to the core including Akhil's family. Sai Adhithya also comes to the house after learning what happened through Akhil's call.

Nagendra is very angry and he disowns his brother claiming him as one of the reasons for Ishika's death and outcastes him from the house despite Sai Adhithya's please, who is also disowned and sent away from the house.

Now, Akhil's anger increases against Nisha, and their relationship is like cat-and-mouse. Akhil decides to start a parallel investigation on Ishika, VK, and the drug investigations after finding the ID cards of Ishika under the name as, Jessica and he gets a lead from Ishika's brother that, she used to visit Bangkok for some investigations and he also provides him the photo of the Bangkok lady, whom Ishika use to meet.

Meanwhile, the drug groups headed by two men, Naidu, one of the friends of VK and Ravichandra, meets Nisha whom they threaten to do drug trafficking to Bangkok holding her sister Ria as a hostage, with one of his henchman, Sakthi, who himself has an own agenda to bring down the empires of Naidu and his partners, as they were the indirect cause for the death of his parents, the former IPS officers in Bangalore……

He has finished his studies in Aeronautics with Naidu's help and works as his assistant for days to trap him at a right point of time. In-turn, Sakthi is also an undercover officer, working in Hyderabad who is asked to bring down the drug people after the deaths of few children and college students in Hyderabad. Since, Naidu orders stubbornly, Sakthi is left with no way and hence, kidnaps Ria. Feared and frightened, Nisha decides to follow the orders of the duo and prepares to go for Bangkok.

At the same time, Akhil and Sai Adhithya are getting ready to go for Bangkok, and there, Nisha intervenes between them telling that, they followed her. However, Akhil declines it and they prepare to start their investigation. Nisha learns that Akhil has started his investigation on her father's and Ishika's death and she decides to accompany the duo so that, she too can learn the mystery.

At this time, Akhil forms as a loggerhead to Sakthi and they both have a sour relationship in Bangkok. Sakthi realizes that both he and Akhil are having the same grudge against the mafia and some days later, they reconcile settling their differences. Sakthi releases Ria secretly, who safely goes to Nisha and Ria falls in love with him. However, Sakthi doesn't agree to her consent, since he have his own agenda to get proceeded.

Akhil and Sai Adhithya meet the Bangkok lady whom, they confronts with the photos and showing their ID card. The lady tells that the mastermind behind the drug syndicate is Naidu, a rich man in Chennai named Pugazh, his too younger brother, Aswath, and an MLA.

As she continues to confess the murder of Ishika, she gets killed by her drugged brother, who indeed has come to get her money, and further, Akhil and Sai Adhithya is also shot and injured. However, their ID cards are safely taken by Nisha, who just arrived there to thank them for rescuing Ria after learning it from Sakthi, who has told her that he was behind the blackmail and further, tells his plans and undercover investigation.

Akhil and Sai Adhithya are taken by the Bangkok Police officers, who take them to the ICU and now comes back to the present and Akhil tells that, "If he has got the answers for Ishika's death and died, it's meaningful. But, it hasn't happened yet"

Akhil and Sai Adhithya recover and they are acquitted by the police officers of Bangkok and are sent back to India where Akhil meets Nisha and Sakthi and he thanks the duo for saving them.

Now, Comes the rich man Pugazh and his brother Ashwath. They are highly influential and bigwig in Chennai and Pugazh stands to the photo of his elder brother's family, to whom he says, he will avenge for their deaths and now, he goes to meet VK, who is alive still and it was a Hyderabad-based look-alike man of VK who has been killed and replaced with him.

VK has been kidnapped since, he has been a cause for the death of Pugazh's elder brother, who worked as a chief surgeon in his hospital, and one day, his elder brother performed surgery in a drunken state and it causes the death of the patient. As a result of this, VK goes furious and complains to the Medical Council of India, who permanently cancels the license of Pugazh's elder brother and as a result of this, his entire family commits suicide.

From that time, Pugazh worked hard and became rich through his illegal business activities, and with an opportunity from Ishika's investigative movements and VK's problems, he trapped him through Naidu and gets him kidnapped while Ishika is killed by Pugazh's brother Ashwath after getting the evidence collected by her.

Pugazh decides to get Ashwath married to Nisha and he brainwashes Shalini showing the money to her and she accepts it. Later, Akhil meets Nisha's family, and there, Shalini ill-treats Akhil and Adhithya. However, they don't care about it. Some days later, Akhil learns that Pugazh has planned to purchase 100 crores worth of Drugs from Saudi Arabia through Sakthi and they get the drugs in which they implant bombs and sends it to Naidu.

The drugs explode and in the process, Naidu is severely injured with his assistant named, Maida. Pugazh learns that 100 crores had been lost and after learning about Akhil's involvement he vows to take revenge against Akhil and gets him arrested by the DCP Sathya, who is on their payroll, and Sai Adhithya too is suspended from his duties. Akhil is also framed as Ishika's murderer and he gets imprisoned.

Sai Adhithya and Akhil face severe torture in the prison by the DCP and his colleagues. At this time, Nisha also learns that her father is alive and Pugazh threatens to marry his brother, Ashwath for her father's release to which, she agrees and the marriage talks take place in VK's home.

Sai Adhithya and Akhil's mentor and guardian Commissioner Akash Mehra come for their rescue and release the duo from the prison telling Sathya that Akhil is an undercover cop and also reinstates Sai Adhithya into duty. Sathya is shocked to hear Akhil's profession and his involvement in the investigation of drug trafficking.

Akash suspends Sathya for 3 weeks prior, to his payroll for the drug groups and Sathya leaves a clue to Pugazh that, there are some police officers behind their decline of business empires and Akhil plans to rescue VK from Pugazh. With a tactful plan, Akhil rescues VK kidnapping Aswath, to whom he implants a bomb and it shows to be a dummy after the bomb squads check it.

VK is taken to his family members and is made to reconcile with them. VK also confesses about the murder of Ishika's by Ashwath to Akhil. An angry and frustrated Akhil plans to kill Ashwath but, gets stopped by Nisha and Adhithya, who tells him to be calm and cool since his whole career will be spoiled when he murders Ashwath.

Since VK's life is in danger, Akhil decides to make him speak in a video conversation with the court judge, where VK tells everything about his mistakes and drug groups and he is sent out as innocent, since VK did it because of the threatening. Ishika is also proved to be innocent and this makes her mother feel happier and Ishika's brother realizes the true love of Akhil to his sister and reconciles with his family as a completely reformed guy promising his full support for them, making Akhil happier. Later, under the orders of the Commissioner, Sakthi and Akhil officially take charge as the ACP of Chennai with Sai Adhithya also and they arrest Pugazh and Naidu, the latter when tried to escape, Sakthi brutally finishes him off closing it as an encounter because he escaped while Ashwath escapes from the police to seek hide-out.

Shalini has a change of heart after seeing the good nature of Akhil and decides to be a loving woman for her family and she apologizes to them for her bad and worse behavior and praises the greatness of Akhil. Now, VK wants Nisha to get married to Akhil and Nisha feels happier to hear this. However, Akhil denies VK's demand, since he still loves Ishika which angers Sakthi and Sai Adhithya and they criticizes for his bad decision while, Nisha feels heartbroken and she breaks down, whom Shalini consoles and she decides to change the minds of Akhil at any cost for her younger sister's welfare.

Akhil's brother also reunites with Akhil with his entire family after seeing the dutiful and dedicated works of Akhil and Sai Adhithya and offers to be with him forever without getting separated from him.

Meanwhile, Ashwath, being angered with his brother's arrest, decides to avenge Akhil and VK's family members by himself. Surprisingly, Pugazh has escaped from the prison and he has planned to kill Akhil, Ishika, and VK's entire family members as revenge for their downfall. He meets Ashwath and they both find a local gangster with whom they, hatches plans to take their revenge spree against their rivals.

As planned, Ashwath brutally finishes off Akhil's sister-in-law Lokeshwari and Nagendra and then kidnaps Akhil's nephew for escaping. Later, Pugazh stages an accident through which, he kills VK and his wife. Then, Ishika's mother Joseph and Catherine too, are killed by Pugazh, and Pooja, in the process is severely injured, whom Sai Adhithya rescues and saves her at the nick of time.

Akhil, Sakthi and Adhithya are eventually suspended by by senior police officers to avoid further complications.

Now, Akhil is running for two days to save his nephew with Sakthi through Rameshwaram and Pondicherry. Now, Pugazh has taken Akhil's niece with Ashwath to Vijayawada, where Akhil goes with Shalini's husband Arjun's help and decides to rescue his nephew. DCP Sathya also has a change of heart when Akhil saved his son from a mere accident before few days in his duties and affords to help Akhil without his request since he has to do something good for Akhil.

After 12 hours of struggle, Akhil finds Pugazh and his nephew, and the latter, threatens to kill Akhil's nephew if the police don't take back and Pugazh shoots Sakthi in his hand and after watching this, Ria faints down in shock. However, Akhil left with no way, shoots down Pugazh brutally and Nisha takes his nephew safely.

Only at this time, Akhil realizes the true love that Nisha had for Akhil. Akhil is taken to the court for doing an unofficial encounter as the judge, after analyzing the encounter as self-defense declares that Akhil should be suspended for few days and after that, he may be reinstated into the Crime branch.

Akhil now meets DCP Sathya, Sakthi, and Sai Adhithya and tells them, "Thank you so much for your help, sir. You, Sakthi, and Adhithya have struggled a lot for me"

"What's there in it, Akhil? You have somehow, saved your nephew. That's enough for me" said DCP Sathya.

"But, it's a great help from you, sir. Without our request, you had helped us" said Sakthi.

"Akhil had made me realize the importance of honesty and duty by saving my son. Hence, it's just a small help which I did" said Sathya.

"Akhil sir. Can you please return your gun?" asked the Court police officers.

"Why sir?" asked DCP Sathya.

"Sir. He had used this gun to kill Pugazh. Hence, it should be submitted to Human Rights commission where, they will decide the judge's verdict and tell, about the dismiss of Akhil" said the officers.

"What? If he has not shot Pugazh at that time, he would have killed his nephew" said DCP Sathya.

"Sir. Leave. Hereafter, we won't be able to do anything. Let the court do by law" said Akhil.

"Akhil. Don't worry. We will rescue you at any cost" said Nisha.

Akhil is emotional and thanks Nisha, since she has faced so many challenges for these three days with him and she tells Akhil that, she will wait for him till her death and Akhil hugs her emotionally, which is watched by Sakthi, Pooja, Adhithya, and Nisha's family in tears.

Akhil is taken into custody and the Human Rights after learning through Arjun about the reason for murder just as self-defense releases Akhil with a light punishment of three-month suspension periods and Akhil is evicted off from the case.

Akhil meets Nisha's family and gets engaged to her while Sakthi gets engaged to Ria. Everyone has a happy snap photo from Adhithya and Pooja after which, they have a grand celebration. Then, a man comes to Adhithya and hands him a courier.

In the courier, Adhithya and Akhil are given a case, which predicts a mysterious type of murders and robbery and Sakthi too, learns of this through his mail and they get ready to proceed on their mission implying us that, "Their race against the criminals continues."
