I watched as the crowd cheered for Daniel as the elder painted his head red. Daniel moved to the middle of the crowd.

“As the new leader I say that instead of waiting for them to attack us, we attack them. Search parties shall be sent in all directions. Kill them If you see them. Bring the bodies here so we can give their blood to Ashaluka,” said the new leader, raising his hands to huge applause.

I jumped down from the tree as the crowd started moving around probably inspired to search for us right away. As I hit the ground, I stepped on a cracked leaf, making a sound. The clearing was silent. I knew that my cover had been blown. I started racing away from the clearing. I heard light footsteps following me and a few shouts. I looked behind for a second. I saw the Bone tribe hot on my heels. I looked forward to seeing a tree trunk coming closer. I managed to move my face away, but my leg got hit. I felt a surge of pain in my leg. I kept running albeit a bit slower.

I sprinted till I was behind the cover of the trees. I was on the same hill that contained the hole that led to Lorin’s hideout. I shuffled as fast as I could around the hill, looking out for the hole. I remember how when I first came here, I did not know what the huge landmass arising from the ground was called. Afterwards, I had thought it was the legendary mountains that were sung about in stories and poems. After seeing the size of the mountains in the island far away, I realized that these were mere hills. I could hear the voices of the Bone tribe faintly behind me, coming closer. I tried moving faster.

Finally, I reached the small cave on the other side of the hill that was our current hideout. By our, I meant my brother, my mother, and myself. I moved the thicket of vines that covered the entrance to the side and entered to the view of a spear tip pointed at my face. It was my mother. “Oh, it's you-“

I interrupted her by putting my finger on my lips. She lifted her eyebrows. I mouthed the words Bone tribe. I watched as her face contorted in worry. Suddenly I thought of something.

“Where is he?” I asked referring to my brother.

The Bone tribe pushed aside the vines. I stabbed the first one in the chest, blood spurting everywhere. I kicked the second one in the chest, making him fall down, hitting his head on a rock with a sickening crack. The third one, my mother killed by throwing a knife in his head. The fourth and fifth both jumped on me at the same time, slashing their daggers. I dodged both their attacks and stabbed my spear into one of their chests. The other one landed a deep cut on my shoulder with his dagger before I elbowed him in the face. He fell down. I knelt next to him putting my spear at his throat.

“Where…Is….My…..BROTHER?” I asked slowly pushing the spear downwards.

 “I.. HAHA will never tel-“

I politely interrupted him by stabbing my spear downward, instantly killing him.
