Everyone stayed quiet as we moved through the tunnels. We had quickly told everyone our plan of attack. We would all rush up quietly and when there was a good number of us, we, would move as one into the clearing. I was to free Sillas. Since Sillas would not know who to attack, I had decided to make him follow me. He would attack whomever I attacked.

We moved quickly; my mother in the back, me in the front. My brother stayed back in the rooms as he could not fight without his leg. He insisted that he could use the crutch to move around. Seeing that his crutch was a long wooden stick, I disagreed.

We soon reached the trapdoor that emerged near the clearing. I climbed the ladder and slowly lifted the hard wooden trapdoor. I peered out. I could hear the sound of the tribal people feasting and poking Sillas with their spears. I opened the trapdoor completely and got out. I looked back down and signaled for Halarghanj, the next villager, to follow me. He climbed the ladder and got out, looking around. He was followed by another villager. Then another. Villagers kept climbing out until all 30 of us were out. I nodded to my brother. I signaled for everyone to slowly and quietly surround the clearing. The women were to advance only in the end and mostly attack from afar.

Soon we had surrounded the clearing on three sides. The tribal people who were stuffed with food and juice did not take any notice of us. All of my villagers looked at me. I counted down slowly making sure everyone could see. Three. Two. One.

We all rushed at the same time. I entered the clearing only a few feet away from one of the tribal people. I quickly covered the distance and slashed his throat, instantly killing him. He was sitting with two more of his friends. One of them already had a spear sticking out of their chest. The other one was slow to react. As he took hold of a knife that rested next to him, I used all my power to thrust my spear through his chest. He made a small squeak as blood spurted out of the gap in his chest. I pulled out my spear and looked up to find one of the tribal people running toward me, a knife in his hand. I was about to lift my spear when an arrow struck the tribal square on the side of his head. I looked to the side to see Volleghea nod at me. I turned back to face the scene of the battle. I ran forward to find two more of the Bone tribe rushing at me. I dodged one of their knives and stabbed my spear in the man’s throat. The other tribal slashed out with his knife. I tried dodging it, but I was too late. His knife made a sharp cut on my stomach. I grunted in pain as I punched him in the face. I pulled out the spear from the man’s throat and tried thrusting it through the other tribal person’s chest. He moved to the side, making my spear stab the air, and pushed his knife forward trying to stab me in the chest. I grabbed hold of his hand and pulled it to the side. I brought my spear back, making a cut on the side of his stomach. He yelled in pain. I was about to stab my spear forward when I felt a cool metal blade stab through the right side of my stomach. My entire body flooded with pain. Still, I quickly stabbed my spear forward, killing the tribal, and turned around to fight the other man. He was already dead, a knife sticking out through his chest. My mother stood behind him. She nodded to me.

After killing a few more of the Bone tribe, I finally reached Sillas who was wrapped in a huge net that looked as if it was made by tying many fishing nets together.
