THE END

I watched silently as Sillas ran past me, leaped over the circle of villagers, and tore apart the Bone tribe, one tribal after another. I watched as the leader of the Bone tribe appeared in front of Sillas. He stabbed his spear upward as Sillas leaped on him. Sillas brushed it away like it was a tree branch. He sank his claws deep in the leader's chest, ripping out flesh and blood. Sillas uttered another roar that tore apart the forest. He continued moving through the tribals and disposing of them like they were stick figures.

I heard a rumble in the sky. I looked up to feel the soft touch of a raindrop landing on my cheek. The sky rumbled again, unleashing its beautiful rain on the world. I closed my eyes.

Then, I looked around me. Most of the Bone tribe had fled. A number of them were dead, their bodies strewn around the clearing. I slowly walked down the path to our village. Water droplets moved down my shoulders and face. I reached the village and walked into it. It had been almost two years since I had walked through these paths.  The huts had been rebuilt. Every house had a skull on its front. I turned right and walked toward my childhood house. It had been rebuilt. I walked toward the front door. I removed the skull from where it was hanging. It was a deer skull. Not a single piece of flesh remained on it. I looked back up at the door. I opened it and walked inside.

The house seemed almost the same. I looked at the part of the floor that was strewn with thick grass that was tied together to make a carpet to sleep on. The same carpet on which my father had died on. The same carpet on which my brother and I had played with each other when we were younger.

I looked around the room once more and turned back to the doorway. There was a man standing there. A man I knew well.

"I do not know why I did it. But I do not regret it. They were about to banish me, you know. Maybe that is why I did it. Or maybe I am just a sadist. That makes more sense as I feel liking killing you." Lorin lifted his hand and pointed at me. I heard a hissing sound and the slithery beast dove to me. I jumped to the side to see the beast flying to the side. I felt lighter than I had ever done. Time slowed down. I threw my spear into the beast's head, killing it instantly. Then I ran toward the beast, pulled out the spear and threw it into Lorin's chest. I panted and looked around. I slowly calmed down and sat on the mattress.

All obstacles were removed. We would rebuild. I smiled.
