Costly Dream

Lying on her bed wondering what to do, my ambitious & charming wife of 3.5 decades old unknowingly began her journey to dreamland one fine day or afternoon. The landing was smooth and comfortable. The atmosphere around was electrifying and breathtaking. She started walking along the red carpet that was laid out for her. There were flowers all through her path and buds were blooming as if to welcome her. Wandering deep into the woods she came to a sudden halt.

Behold, what she saw before her was amazing. Bewildered she was to find a magnificent & majestic palace. The gates of the palace were kept open for her but nobody was around. As she entered the palace, she could hear heavenly & divine music coming from one of the halls whose doors were wide open. As she entered the music hall, her unbelievable eyes fell on the beautiful maidens or damsels dressed in pure lily-white who were dancing to the tunes of the enchanting music never heard before.

Behold again, there was a huge golden throne and on it sat "Sharu" who was none other than the man of her countless dreams. For a minute she stood there speechless & dumbstruck. She then regained her senses and walked slowly & gracefully step by step to the immortal one. She extended her hand to the one and only "Sharu". As he was about to hold her slender hand, there was a big thud followed by a scream!

Alas, my wife's irreversible journey came to an inconclusive & abrupt end. And she found herself back in the harsh land of reality and in my boring presence. The thud was nothing but "her falling from the bed". Unfortunately & tragically for her, the midsummer afternoon dream turned out to be too costly following which she had nightmares only!

All is not well that begins well but does not end well !!
